100 largest American companies are listed by Forbes on their annual Global  2000 biggest publicly traded companies list. Overall, these American companies generate a revenue of $6.55 trillion, report $607 billion in profits, $20.6 trillion in assets, and have a total market value of $8.88 trillion.

Year after year Forbes announces the Global 2000 biggest, most effective publicly listed corporations across the world. They compile thair Global 2000 directory by evaluating Interactive Data, Thomson Reuters Fundamentals and Worldscope databases via FactSet Research Systems for publicly traded businesses. We as well are using these databases for our key sources of information and we are applying four metrics to value our rankings: sales, profits, assets and market value.

Our listing of the biggest 25 American companies is in line with Forbes’ “big” list but centered only on American corporations.
