Altogether, these leading listed German companies generate revenue of $2.08 trillion, demonstrate profits of $96 billion, have $7.63 trillion in assets, and represent a market value of $1.26 trillion.

Every year Forbes announces the Global 2000 biggest, most powerful publicly listed companies on the planet. They compile their Global 2000 listing by examining Interactive Data, Thomson Reuters Fundamentals and Worldscope databases via FactSet Research Systems for public companies. We are using these databases as our key sources of information, and apply four metrics, sales, profits, assets and market value, to decide about our rankings.

Our list of the 25 most significant German companies is in accordance with Forbes’ “big” list but here we focus only on German companies. Our new 2013 listing will be published by the end of April, 2014.
