Unilever sees sustainability as a social responsibility
Unilever’s strategy is to enhance durability. In the first place because they believe that their operational scale and range of brands demand social responsibility. Secondly, it is also just good for their image. Years ago already Unilever launched a program under the umbrella brand imprint, in order to embed sustainability in the DNA of all Unilever brands.
Products must now not only be good for consumers but also for other stakeholders. Thus, free-range eggs were used for Calve mayonnaise, and fairtrade ice cream from Ben & Jerry’s was made from 100 percent natural ingredients. Responsible enjoyment, says Unilever.
