The initial clients of the company were known to be DAF Trucks and Philips which is the former employer of Pieter van der Leegte.
It was during the early 1960s that Pieter started to produce his own products. Then in 1984, the group has expanded to five companies. It was in the year 1993 that the company ventured into business involving buses and coaches with the takeover of DAF Bus International. The group continued to develop and expand its reach as two huge takeovers happened, BerkhofJonckheereGroep in 1998 and BOVA in 2003. These takeovers happened after the company ventured into the bus and coach sector. The biggest decision the company has ever made was the acquisition in 2006 of Philips Enabling Technologies Group.
